Neil Maddever

Sounds Unlimited is owned and operated by Neil Maddever, one of New Zealand’s leading sound engineers, with 30 years experience in recording, mixing, and mastering. We have worked with some of New Zealand’s foremost performers, including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Roger Fox, the NZSO, Trinity Roots, and Goldenhorse.

Neil has engineered more than 200 CD’s and records. He has worked with the best talent New Zealand and the world has to offer, from Ella Fitzgerald to Peter Jackson. Neil records and mixes the sound for many of our top television series; including Dancing with the Stars, Singing Bee, One Night Only, and many specials such as Kiri Te Kanawa, Xmas Carols and the Waitata Maori Music Awards.

Neil lectured in sound reinforcement and music recording for 13 years at the New Zealand School of Music and wrote the papers for a degree Major in Music Recording. He is a course advisor for the music department at Whitirea Polytechnic.

Neil has won a number of local and international awards for his high-quality sound engineering skills, including the prestigious New York Festival’s Gold Medal for Best Music Special.
